Two cases of placental transmogrification of the lung

placental transmogrification of the lung（PTL）は1979年にMcChesneyにより初めて報告された非常にまれな肺の嚢胞性病変であり^1），文献的な報告は我々が渉猟しえた限り50例に満たない。今回我々はPTLを2例経験したことから，画像的な特徴に文献的な考察を加えて報告する。

Placental transmogrification of the lung（PTL）is a very rare benign tumor characterized by histological features resembling placental villi. We report two cases of PTL：a man and a woman, both in their 50s. CT showed pulmonary nodules with small cystic spaces in both cases, and slow growth was suspected in one. As malignancy could not be ruled out, surgical resection was performed. Histopathological examination revealed placental villi-like structures, confirming PTL. Although the presence of cystic spaces, fat, or calcification on imaging may suggest PTL, preoperative diagnosis is often difficult.
