It has been about five years since a high spatial resolution CT scanner, which can achieve twice the spatial resolution of conventional CT in both the in-plane and body axis directions, became available for clinical use. It will have a significant impact on the imaging diagnosis of lung cancer, both visually and quantitatively, by making it possible to image minute lesions, including pre-existing structures such as blood vessels and bronchi in the lung field. By combining evolving artificial intelligence(AI)and high spatial resolution CT images, we expect to further improve the diagnostic performance of lung cancer and build an explicable AI.
