Myanmar has initiated a transformation to representative democracy from the military-backed government. People can travel more freely in long-distance than ever that will lead a greater change in disease structure in the near future. In the academic year of 2014, Nagoya University started offering a supplemental educational program called Women Leader's Program to Promote Well-being in Asia which is a 5-year graduate program combining a 2-year master's program and a 3-year doctoral program. Since 2015, our group have visited Myanmar three times and witnessed social changes and some of educational and health-related challenges. In this report, the current health situation in Yangon and the results of height and weight measurements among 368 children who go to a monastic school are summarized. Both the height- and weight- for-age were lower than those of WHO data. The results suggested the needs of appropriate health and dietary education among children.
