Abstract

Objective

This study aims to identify critical research topics, priorities and area in disaster nursing.

Methods

Using the Delphi method, 100 disaster nursing professionals were selected as research subjects to complete an online survey via e-mail up to the fourth round of the survey. The items with the highest agreement were weighted using the five-case method for each research topic obtained, and the items with the highest agreement were designated as consensus status. Qualitative methods were used to identify the research areas.

Results

Seven research areas consisting of 85 research topics such as "Nursing Education," "Nursing Roles," "Support Methods," "Fact-Finding Survey," "Risk Management," "Collaboration," and "Disaster Prevention and Risk Reduction" were created. 15 items were identified as priority research topics for which the agreement rate exceeded 95%.

Conclusion

The multi-polar layering of research areas and topics suggests not only the deepening of disaster nursing but also its interdisciplinary expansion and development. It is inferred that this will be widely used as a guideline for directing research and education that can contribute to global issues after 2030, leading to further development of disaster nursing science.
