　Thank you so much for this very kind invitation. Thank you for your kind introduction. And I'm very challenged to share with you some of the thinking of the very difficult challenge of translating nursing research to practice.

　There are five parts to this presentation that I would like to share with you this morning. These include: definitions-and there are different definitions-of translational research; a very brief discussion of knowledge and evidence and the issues of evidence-based practice; the structure and structures of knowledge; changing nurse behavior; and strategies towards a preferred future.
