東日本大震災における自衛隊の医療活動

Medical Assistance provided by the Japan Self Defense Force after the Great East Japan Earthquake

はじめに

　東日本大震災で被災した方々にお見舞い申し上げます．東日本大震災では，現地で自衛隊が医療活動を含めた支援活動を行った．今回，自衛隊の医療活動について投稿してはどうかとの勧めがあり，直接リハビリテーション（以下，リハ）に関する活動ではないものの，会員の皆様に何らかの参考になればとの思いで筆を執った．地震発生当時，私は防衛省陸上幕僚監部衛生部に勤務していたが，ここは陸上自衛隊の医療・衛生行政を司る部門である．したがって，私自身は現地で医療活動を行ったわけではないが，現地の自衛隊の医療活動を後方から支援する立場であり，今回の内容は現地部隊からの報告，聞き取りに基づくものであることをお断りしておく．

Abstract : The Japan Self Defense Force (JSDF) provided invaluable medical assistance after the Great East Japan Earthquake. The JSDF has medical units and many helicopters and ambulances. Utilizing these resources, the JSDF transported and treated many sick or injured refugees. The transportation capabilities of the JSDF are especially useful for disabled persons if they need to be transferred to another hospital. It is worthwhile and necessary to understand the JSDF's medical capabilities and to collaborate with them for other medical assistance teams.
