　日本言語聴覚士協会が発行する「言語聴覚研究」が創刊されてから，約16年が経過した．

　本稿の目的は，現在までの経過をまとめて掲載論文の動向を分析し，本誌の特徴および今後の課題を探ることである．本誌は2004年11月に創刊され，2020年12月の第17巻4号までに373編の論文が掲載された．また2010年に優秀論文賞を設置し，編集システムや査読体制の整備を重ねて内容を充実してきた．論文内容の分析の結果，本誌の特徴はすべての言語聴覚障害領域の論文が掲載される総合誌であること，訓練・指導・支援の科学的根拠を探求し，臨床の質の向上に寄与する論文が多いこと，言語聴覚療法の実態調査報告が充実していることなどが明らかとなった．今後の課題として，研究成果の速報化，論文へのアクセス性の向上，英語版の発行などが考えられる．本誌は大きな可能性を持つ，発展過程にある専門誌であり，今後も着実に歩みを進め，成熟していくものと思われる．

　It has been 16 years since the Japanese Journal of Speech, Language, and Hearing Research (JSLHR) was first published by the Japanese Association of Speech-Language-Hearing Therapists. The purpose of this survey was to clarify the characteristics and future challenges of this journal, through looking back on the history and analyzing the trend of articles. The JSLHR was launched in November 2004, and 373 articles were published by December 2020. The Excellent Paper Award was established in 2010, and the editing system and review system have been improved several times. The journal is characterized by covering all areas of speech, language, hearing, and swallowing disorders, carrying many articles searching for the scientific basis of therapy as well as better clinical practice, and rich surveys on speech, language, hearing, and swallowing therapy. As for future challenges, the following issues need to be considered:quick reporting of study results, improving accessibility to articles, and publishing an English version of JSLHR. The JSLHR is an academic journal with a great potential and will develop by stepping forward steadily for the future.
