We conducted a survey to look at the use of mobile devices and apps in speech-language-hearing therapy, in order to determine the advantages of using such technology and the conditions for its effective use. We sent a questionnaire to 247 speech-language-hearing therapists (SLHTs) and received responses from all of them. Questions were designed to identify attributes of the respondents, information about the mobile devices and apps, and details of which technology was used in what situation. Subjects who did not use the technology were asked about their reasons for not doing so. The results show that 32% of the subjects used apps to carry out their duties as an SLHT. The rate of use was higher in care facilities than in hospitals, and the total number of apps used was 209. YouTube and cameras were the most popular technologies. Many of the users wanted to keep using the apps after the trial period. If highly specialized apps are developed in the future, it may be possible to continue speech-language-hearing training provided in hospitals at patients' homes and other facilities.
