Training of Surgeons for Thoracoscopic and Video-Assisted Thoracic Surgery

　胸腔鏡下手術は器械・器具の開発，術式の改良に伴い適応が拡大され，低侵襲であることから，現在では気腫性嚢胞の切除にとどまらず，心嚢，横隔膜，肺，縦隔，食道，胸椎など胸郭を形成するすべての組織や臓器の良・悪性疾患の診断と治療に用いられるようになった．したがって，これからの一般胸部外科医は胸腔鏡下手術の基本手技を習得する必要があり，卒後教育の一環としてのトレーニングが必要である．年1回開かれる日本内視鏡外科学会によるシンポジウム形式のセミナーに加えて，live tissueを用いた実技指導を含む胸腔鏡下手術トレーニングセミナーの再開が切に望まれる．

Thoracoscopic and video-assisted thoracic surgery is a minimally invasive approach for the diagnosis and sur-gical treatment of diseases of the lung, heart, pericardium, pleura, mediastinum, diaphragm, esophagus, and ver-tebra. It is essential for the general thoracic surgeon to master thoracoscopic and video-assisted thoracic surgery techniques. Suegeons obtain the necessary training through symposia and seminars where the use of the thoracoscopy instruments and techniques are practiced in animals.
