The patient was a 56-year-old man with acute onset of abdominal pain and vomiting. The diagnosis wasacute gastric volvulus. Endoscopic detorsion of volvuls was unsucsessful, so we performed laparoscopicdetorsion and anterior gastropexy as emergent operation. The gastropexy was performed using a straightneedle with a 2-0 nylon suture, which was inserted into the abdomen from the surface of the anterior rectussheath. Six sutures were tied through the abdominal wall and stomach. Postoperative course was uneventfuland there has been no recurrence of volvulus later.
