A bioresorbale membrane (Seprafilm®) is used almost routinely in open abdominal surgery to prevent postoperative adhesions and intestinal obstruction. Yet, the application of Seprafilm in laparoscopic surgery (LS) is unfeasible because of its sticky properties. Previously reported methods did not result in widespread use because they needed expensive devices, techniques or time-consuming preparation before usage. Here we described an easy and prompt method of Seprafilm insertion and placement through 10mm laparoscopic ports using surgical gloves during laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Since the number of patients undergoing multiple laparoscopic surgeries is increasing, our method which prevents postoperative adhesion is beneficial for the majority of patients undergoing LS.
