脳ドックは1988年に日本で誕生した。最初は未破裂脳動脈瘤を発見するためにDSAによる血管撮影が,同年に無症候性脳血管病変を発見するMRIを用いた脳ドックが始まった。その後MRA性能の向上ですべてMRIによる脳ドックとなった。脳ドックで脳動脈瘤が発見され予防手術が可能となった。MRIで発見された無症候性脳梗塞や微小脳出血は脳卒中発症のリスクであり,危険因子の管理で予防治療が進んだ。近年は脳卒中に加え認知症予防が脳ドックの重点となりつつある。
Abstract
Brain dock was introduced in Japan in 1988. Initially, DSA was used to detect unruptured cerebral aneurysms, and in the same year, brain dock using MRI to detect asymptomatic cerebrovascular lesions was initiated. Subsequently, the performance of the MRA improved, and all brain docks were made by MRI. A brain aneurysm was discovered in the brain dock and preventive surgery was performed. MRI-detected asymptomatic cerebral infarctions and microbleeds raise stroke risk, while preventive care improves with better risk factor management. In recent years, the role of brain dock technology has expanded beyond stroke prevention, as it is increasingly recognized for its potential in the early prevention of cognitive impairment.
