遺伝医療の進歩に伴って，さまざまな疾患で遺伝に関連した説明が求められる場合がある。遺伝情報の特性に配慮した対応が必要となるが，その際に遺伝カウンセリングの手法は参考になる。また，近年は遺伝性神経・筋疾患においても病態修飾療法が登場したり，網羅的遺伝子解析が実施されたりする場面があり，説明のあり方が変化しつつある。さらに，成人発症の神経・筋疾患に対しても着床前遺伝学的検査が慎重な審査の結果として適応ありと判断され得る状況となった。

Abstract

With the advances in genetic medicine, genetic explanations may be required for various diseases. Hence, genetic counseling methods may be helpful. Furthermore, in recent years, disease-modifying therapies have been developed for some hereditary neuromuscular diseases and their explanations are changing. To date, pre-implantation genetic testing for adult-onset neurodegenerative diseases has not been indicated; however, the appropriateness of testing is now being reviewed depending on the “severity” of the disease.
