Brace Clinic

PT：今日のクリニックは4症例です．第1の症例はジョーンズ氏で柳さんが説明します．

柳：ジョーンズ氏は上腕骨骨折のケースです．19歳でちょうど2週間前の骨折です．らせん骨折が確かで橈骨神経に損傷があります．ギプスをつけて主としてROMをOTで1週間施行，診療しました．ギプスが前腕まであるので肘関節の屈筋と伸筋に対してはisometricの運動を行なっています．このケースを出した理由はトーマススプリントを与える適応があるかどうかという事です．

Physical Therapist：We have four cases to present today at the clinic. First case will be Mr.Jones. Miss Yanagi will present the case.

Miss Yanagi：Mr.Jones is a case of humeral fracture. He is 19 years old and suffered this fracture exactly two weeks ago. Apparently this was a spiral type fracture and there was a damage to the radial nerve. Patient has been treated in occupational therapy for one week now mainly to give range of motion with the cast on. The cast is down to the forearm and I have been giving isometric exercises for the elbow extensor and flexors. The reason I present this case today is if there would be an indication to give him a Thomas splint.
