The authors investigated nystagmus in four cases of Wallenberg's syndrome over a relatively long period of time. The direction of nystagmus in Case 1 was to the normal side in acute phase and tothe affected side in chronic phase. The direction of nystagmus in Case 2 was changed from the normal side to the affected side in chronic phase. The direction of nystagmus in Case 3 and 4 was to the normal side from the early stage.
From Case I and 2 it was suggested that the direction of nystagmus might have changed with the progress of time.
Quality of nystagmus changed with the progress of time in three out of four cases.
