両側性扁桃周囲膿瘍の1症例

A Case of Bilateral Peritonsillar Abscess

I．はじめに

　偏桃周囲炎および膿瘍は耳鼻科の日常診療上よく遭遇する疾患であるが，ほとんどすべての例は片側性である。我々は，最近，両側性扁桃周囲膿瘍の1例を経験したので，最近5年問の岡山大学付属病院耳鼻咽喉科での扁桃周囲炎および膿瘍症例について調査した結果も合わせて報告する。

　A case of a 28-year-old man with bilateral peritonsillar abscesses was reported. Peritonsillar abscess usually occurs in one side and bilateral case is rare. In our clinic, 24 cases of peritonsillar abscess or peritonsillitis were treated during the recent 5 years. Two of them were bilateral. Both of them showed unilateral involvement at first. Because of the temporary remission of symptoms after the incision and the usage of antibiotics, the patients stopped recieving the treatment without our permission.

　The authors discussed on the mechanism of the occurrence of bilateral peritonsillar abscess and emphasized the importance of sufficient treatment at the early stage.
