巨大な舌根嚢胞の一例

A Case Report of Huge Cyst of the Base of the Tongue

　I．緒言

　舌根嚢胞についての症例報告は，本邦では，1917年，久保による44歳男性例^1）に始まる。以後，小児，特に乳児において呼吸困難を生じた症例の報告^2〜4）が散見されるが，成人例の報告はきわめて少ない。これは症例が実際に少ないためではなく，むしろ数多く経験されているにもかかわらず，嚢胞が小さいため重篤な臨床症状を示さないこと，また本質的に良性疾患であることなどのため，報告されなかったものと思われる。

　今回，筆者らは，舌根部に巨大な嚢胞が存在するにもかかわらず，主訴が声の変化というごく軽い臨床症状しか示さなかった症例を経験したので，ここに報告する。

　A 72-year-old female with a huge cyst of the base of the tongue is reported. She had suffered from dysphonia and muffled voices. However she had'nt have any other complaints such as dyspnea and dysphagia. Laryngoscopic examination showed a huge cyst occupying the pharynx, and it was surgically resected. Its size was 3.0×2. 8×1.5cm. Dysphonia disappeared immediately after surgery. Determination of whether the cyst was congenital or acquired was failed by the pathological study.
