頭頸部腫瘍末期患者の悪臭の処理について—clindamycin，metronidazoleの使用経験

The Prevention of Offensive Odor of Patients with Head and Neck Tumors in Terminal Stage: Use of Clindamycin and Metronidazole

　I．はじめに

　末期癌患者の悪臭は，患者自身のみならず看護する者，治療する者，また病室を同じくする者にとって重大な関心事である。この悪臭の原因として，近年，嫌気性菌の感染が注目を集めるようになり，clindamycin（CLDM）metronidazole（Met）が著効を呈することがわかってきた。

　今回，頭頸部腫瘍末期患者の悪臭に対してCLDM，Metの併用ないし単独投与により，著効を得た症例を4例経験したので，若干の考察を加えて報告する。

　Most of patients in terminal stage of head and neck tumor have offensive odor.

　It is very important to deodorize the offensive odor not only for patients but also for many people surrounding them. The offensive odor has recently been reported due to anaerobic infections.

　Both of metronidazole and clindamycin are chown to be effective against anaerobic bacteria.

　In four cases in terminal stage of head and neck tumors with offensive odor, the offensive odor was deodorized with metronidazole with clindamycin or metronidazole alone.
