昭和48年（1973）より長崎県立久原養護学校（小・中学部）生徒の健康管理に参加してきた。
在校生徒73名中にDown症候群18名を認め，そのうち慢性副鼻腔炎を合併している7名について保存的治療を長期間に亘つて継続してきたのでその成績などについて考察した。
In 18 cases of Down's syndrome, paranasal sinusitis was found in 7 cases (38.8%). The sinuses of the patients showed poorly developed pneumatisation.
Nasal treatments were applied to 7 patients resulting in improvement in 4 cases.
It is significant for the patients with Down's syndrome that they should be continuously treated by nasal irrigation in every day.
