A PROPOSAL FOR A NEW METHOD IN PARTIAL REMOVAL OF THE MIDDLE AND INFERIOR TURBI-NATES

　I．はじめに

　さきに私は自分自身の蝶形骨洞手術法^1）〜4）および篩骨洞手術法^5）を発表した。このたびは私の案出した経口的中鼻介手術法ならびに鼻内的下鼻介手術法を主題とする。鼻介手術は初歩的な手術のようで，かえつて難しいものの1つである。肥厚した部分あるいは過長な部分を必要かつ十分に切除しなければ所期の目的を果たすことができぬ反面，取り過ぎると削痩性鼻炎を惹起するからである。

　The essential point of Niki's turbinectomy consisting of partial removeal of the hypertrophic middle and inferior turbinates are as follows : Along with the middle turbinate the bony structure of adjacent areas that may interfere with proper aeration of the ethmoid and maxillary sinuses carefully removed.

　The removal of the bony structure may be readily accomplished by use Yansen-Middleton forceps while the soft tissues may be trimmed by use of Takahashi's or Grunwald forceps.
