喉頭癌および上顎癌に対するBleomycinの効果について

BLEOMYCIN IN THE TREATMENT OF LARYNGEAL AND MAXILARY CANCERS

　I．はじめに

　頭頸部領域の悪性腫瘍に対しては腫瘍の進展度に応じて手術，照射，制癌剤使用などその治療計画は一律ではない。もちろん，手術方法に対する考え方，照射に対してはその装置および照射方法に対する考え方，制癌剤に対しては種類およびその使用についての考え方などで計画は種々変つてくる。梅沢^1）2）によつて開発されたBleomycin（以下BLMと略記する）の扁平上皮癌に対する効果は驚くべきものがあるが，やはり使用法が大切で，単独使用か放射線との併用か，それぞれの部位の癌に対し，適応法が異なる。今回，私どもは特に喉頭癌と上顎癌に対するBLMの効果からどの様な治療計画を考えているか報告するのでご批判を得たい。

　A histological follow-up examination on forty cases of head and neck malignancies, which included laryngeal, maxillary, pharyngeal, esophageal and tongue cancers, treated by means of bleomycin and irradiation.

　Bleomycin appeared to be one of the most useful anticarcinogenic agent in the treatment of squamous cell carcinoma and it produced very little ill effect on the patient. The combined use of irradiation with bleomycin simultaneously appeared to be the more effective than the use of bleomycin alone.
