喉頭癌および上顎癌の初診時所見に関する統計的観察

STATISTICAL OBSERVATIONS ON INITIAL CONSULTATIONS IN MAKING A DIAGNOSIS OF MAXILLARY AND LARYNGEAL CANCERS

　Ⅰ．緒言

　早期診断および治療が癌の征服に直結していることは疑いのない問題であるが，そのためには，癌腫の初期の状態において診察する機会を得ることが必須の条件である。

　初期癌腫の診断に関しては，従来よりいくたの業績が示すように，いかなる初期症状に注意し，またいかなる診断技術が有効であるかを論議されてきた。たとえば，上顎癌の初期症状として一側性鼻漏に留意し，積極的にX線検査および試験的洞開放術を施行して，診断を確実にすることを主張している。歯痛を訴える症例に関しても同様に注意し，上顎癌の初期症状として歯痛が認められる可能性を留意して診察を施行すべきであるといわれている。また喉頭癌に関しては，喉頭截開術のもとに，試験切片を採取する方法を，ある種の症例に対しては積極的に行なうべきであると主張している。

　Due to the vast development and improvment of the means of transportation, it may be no longer said that the city dwellers are better situated in getting a proper diagnosis of the laryngeal cancer in its early stage than their counterparts who live away from the city. The prognosis of cases who recieve a proper madical attention in the early stage of the cancer are generally good. It is also important that the examiner be equiped with adequate knowledge and skill in the reconition of the cancers in their early stages.
