Speech Rehabilitationの立場からみた聴覚・言語障害児の残存聴力の問題

THE PROBLEM OF RESIDUAL HEARING AMONG CHILDREN AFFECTED WITH DEAFNESS AND DISTURBED SPEECH FROM THE STANDPOINT OF SPEECH REHABILITATION

　Ⅰ．緒言

　聾唖の言語習得能力と残存聴力との間には密接な関係のあることは，すでにF. Bezold（1893年）によつて指摘されていたが，最近のエレクトロニクスの進歩によって，聴力の測定法の進歩とともに，残存聴力の利用法の研究が促進されつつあり，聴覚障害に原因する言語障害児の福祉対策に新らしい見解が取り入れられようとしている。

　著者は，50名の聾唖児について聴力検査および言語能力について観察し，その結果から聴覚言語障害児のSpeech Rehabilitationについて考按を行なつたので報告する。

　The residual hearing was tested among 50 deaf children and speech rehabilitation was considered for each case based upon this amount. In 32 cases, 64%, hearing aids were used in their speech training; in these cases the deafness was due conductive defects and mixed types. The degree in developing clearness of articulation of speech was dependent upon the amount of residual hearing, but the highest that such ability developed was only 40 to 50% while, the lowest stopped at 17%.
