Even among the cases of irregular forms of herpes zoster oticus report of cases in-volving functional disturbance of vestibular organ are very few in number. In the pre-sent case a woman, aged 26, who was affec-ted with a light attack of otitic herpes com-plained of severe dizziness. There was no facial palsy nor any loss of hearing. It re-quired a period of 4 months before the sym-ptom of diziness was appreciably allayed with the disappearence of spontaneous nysta-gmus but, the signs of canal paresis persis-ted without any change.
