BONY AND CARTILAGENOUS FORMATION IN THE TONSILS

　Ⅰ．緒言

　口蓋扁桃組織内に骨及び軟骨組織を見たのは，1895年Deichert^1）の報告が最初でありその後の多数の研究報告より，この扁桃内異組織の存在は稀ではないことが分った。しかし，その成因及び発生機転に関しては諸説があり，未だ決定をみない状態である。我々は最近この一例を経験したので，茲に報告する。

Osseous and cartilagenous tissues were fo-und in the tonsil of a woman, aged 19, after tosillectomy. Previous to the operation the patient was affected with chronic diphtheria with symptoms that had lasted for a consi-derable while before a specific treatment was effected. The authors believe that this bony and cartilagenous changes to be due to the influence of the long lasted inflammatory process.
