口蓋裂成形手術特に麻酔について

　I．緒言

　口蓋裂の成形手術は整形外科医あるいは口腔外科医によつても行われているが，耳鼻咽喉科医によつても行われることの多い手術である。むしろ手術操作や術後の機能回復殊に言語機能の問題などからいえば耳鼻咽喉科専門医によつて取扱うのが至当と思われる。口蓋裂の喫食及び言語機能の回復という点からいえば，その成形手術は可及的早期に行うのが良いのであるが，反面手術操作の容易さ，手術侵襲に対する抵抗性という点からいえば年長者程良好である。従つて本手術療法に関してはこれまで諸氏の意見が述べられているが，私も多少とも本手術を経験し治療に努力してきたので，私の手術成績を検討し本手術を成功させる諸条件殊に最近行つている麻酔法に関して私見を述べてみたい。

A resume is reported on 55 cases of clefte palate which the author had treated by opera-tive method within the last 4 years. The opti-mum age of the patient for operation is when the child is 2 to 3 years old. The choice of anes-thesia is nitrous oxide gas administered by intubation method which is introduced through the nasal cavity, thereby, giving freedom to the field of operation. Following the oper-ation intravenous fluids and blood transfusi-ons along with administration of antibiotics should be continued for the period of week.
