Hearing test on 97 persons who worked in the testing and repairing shop for jet-engines were made. The hearing defect among them was very slight indeed, when compared to the volume of noise to which these persons were exposed. This probably is due to the fact that the time they are exposed, in spite of the noise being extremely loud, is very short in duration. The authors opine that hearing defects that may be derived from occupational sourses might be reduced to a minimum when the time of exposure to ext-reme noises is shortened as much as possible. There appeared to be a longer number who showed 6000c/s dip in this group than those who were affected with hard of heraing from other sourses.
