A case in which the patient died of subarachnoidal hemorrhage following operation on paranasal sinuses is reported. On the 11 th postoperative day, the patient, a man aged 29, began to complain of fever, headache and nausea. Spinal puncture established the diagnosis of subarachnoid hemorrhage. Ten day later there was an onset of another similar hemorrhage in spite of various treatments having been instituted and the patient died. The postmortem examination revealed subarachnoid hemorrhages in the region of optic nerve bifurcation, the third and fourth ventricles as well as the basilar region of the cerebellum; the cerebral tissues approximating optic nerve bifurcation were found to be degenrated. There were no signs of inflammatory involvement of the cranial cavity.
