総頸動脈結紮の経験

　緒言

　吾々は，左側頭部打撲後，左側の搏動性他覚的耳鳴と同側の眼球突出を来した患者に，患側総頸動脈，及び同側内頸静脈結紮を行い治癒させた。本患者の眼球突出は，1813年にB．Traversが初めて報告した搏動性眼球突出症で，海外に於ては，Sattlerによる352例に及ぶ多数の報告があるが，吾が国では眼科領域で取扱つた20数例の報告があるに過ぎない。吾々の扱つた症例は当院眼科から耳鳴の訴えがある為紹介されて訪れた者である。

Shugyo and Tomii report that they succee-ded in curing a patient with tinnitus of vascular origin that accompanied traumaticpulsating exophthalmos by ligating the com-mon carotid artery of the affected side. The cause of vascular sinnitus is discused. The authors maintain that in order to ligate safely the common carotid artery a procedure which ordinarily cause a dangerous compli- cation, it is important to apply repeated compression by finger and thumb before actual ligation is instituted.
