局所麻酔剤Xylocainの使用経験（特に扁摘）

　まえがき

　新局所麻酔剤が実地臨床に広く採用されるに至るのは，これが従来使用されている藥剤に比して確かに優れていることがみとめられる場合である。今般藤沢藥品工業株式会社により本邦に紹介されたXylocainは将に斯様な藥剤であるとして欧米諸国で推奨されているものであるが，本剤は1943年スエーデンのLöfgren及びLundquistによつて合成されたものでその組成は次の如くである。

Kano and associates recommend the use of Xylocain 0.5% solution as local anesthetic agent for surgery on the ear, nose and throat. The authors state that, from 55 cases upon whom the agent was used, it has properties that sur-pass others for similar purpose by being quic-ker in action, covering a larger area of infilt-ration and lasting longer in effect. Its use in tonsillectomy cases appears to be the most suitable.
