KAWASAKI suggests a few points of improve-ment on the technic of tonsillectomy to avoid undue hemorrhage in the procedure.

(1) To place tissues at the cleavage point in strain; (2) To give free usage to the left hand of surgeon; (3) To use adequate illumi-nation for the operative field. The tonsil is held in strain by a ligature which is pre-fatorily passed through its substance and kept taut by an assistant. The surgeon's both hands are now free to manipulate the two types of tonsil forceps with which to effect separation of tissues. All bleeding points are, either, tied or sutured.
