YAMAMOTO reports two cases of tracheo-bron chial foreign bodies. An infant aged 5 months swallowed a bristly leaf of a tree which the mother tried to extricate it with her fingers and during this process the object was forced further inwards through the larynx and into the trachea. Removal of the foreign body was effected by resorting to tracheotomy.
A boy aged 9 years accidently swallowed a metal pencil cover (0.9X 1.7cm) which was left bronchus remaining in this condition for 8 days before he was brought to consultion. The foreign body was removed with bronchoscopy under general anesthesia, but, during the first attempt it accidently slipped and fell then into the right bronchus.
