KOSHIRO in attempting to make repurcussion of Hasegawa's treatment for motion-sickness, in which the latter employs 5 to 7 per cent sodium bicarbonate solutions given intravenously in a 50 cc. dose, treated 105 individuals with the prescri-bed regimen, who complained of either sea-sick-ness or similar affects from other means of trans-portations.

Sixty seven patients of the 72, who were availa-ble for the follow-up study, reported the effects of this treatment as favorable while, the remaini-ng 10 patients had no relief at all, thereby. The duration in which the treatment retained its effec-tiveness was in majority of cases about 2 to 3 months but, 1 case in particular if lasted for the period of 2 years. Among those in whom the trea-tment was ineffective numbet of males predomina-ted over femaleg; to sailors as a group it was genetally less effective and, so also, to those who showed little reactions to turning tests. It may be assumed the sickness incurred to these latter group might be something that is other than motion-sick-ness.
