SAKAMOTO, in his attempt to employ an electric cochlear reaction in the physiological study of inner ear pressure, first made a basic study, by means of sound stimulation, on characteristics of cochleal, amplitude characteristics, frequency characteristics. maximal cochlear potentital, and wave form, as a result of which has found that its capacity as a microphone is good in consonance with a live body.

He further made a general study of several thesis in regard to the working structure of microphonic action, and also of significance of cochlear potential in the formation of hearing capacity.

This study led him to a conclusion that the activity of sensory cells of Cortis organ can be found by cochlear potential, thus offering a basis for further study along this line.
