Koide and Inagaki report on a case of ac-cidental injury by air riffle shot. A boy, 8 years old, while at play was accidently shot in the face by an air riffle at a close range of about one meter of distance. Thepoint of entry of the shot was close to the right lower eye lid; after it had struck against the lateral wall of the orbit, its course was apparently deviated posteriorly towards the inferior orbital fissure where it lay stopped at a position posteriorly to the maxillary bone. For extraction of the shot the maxillary sinus was opened by radical method; inferior orbital groove was located and followed posteriorly by partial removal of superior and posterior walls of the maxiliary sinus until when it was found and removed. The patient's recovery after the operation was uneventful.
