The author admits that there is a definite retar-dation in the advancement of the knowledge on the pathology and treatmeut of laryngeal tuber-culosis. Assuming the situation to inadequate am-ount of basic studies on the subject, he has brou-ght it to a considerable light by animal experi-mentations. The author considers the onset of disease as the loss of the balance which might be sustained by two opposing powers, the bacte-rial invasive and the tissue resistant, and, clas-sified the onset and progress of the disease into seven different categories. Interpretations on pathological changes in the tissues were on sta-tic basis, in the past, out, the author regards them in that of dynamic. His success in animal experimentations and acquirement of resulting precise classifications, which are based on varied subjects such as symptoms, pathological changes and the progress of disease, might be attributed to the ability, which from the stand point of general medicine, for grasping the subject on dynamic terms. The treatment of this disease seems to be placed upon rational basis with this new interpretation.
