I．はじめに

　近年malignant gliomaに対する治療法，予後に関する検討は数多く報告されているが^13,14,20），一方，low—grade astrocytomaの治療成績に関する報告は散見されるにすぎない．従来の報告では，小脳のlow-gradeastrocytomaの予後は良好であるが^{2,3,5,8,23）}，テント上の症例の5年生存率は40-60％の報告が大半を占め，必ずしも予後良好とはいい難い^{8,11,12,15,21,24,28）}．また治療法に関する検討も少なく，術後の放射線療法あるいは化学療法の有効性についても一定の結論が得られていない．

　本稿では，われわれがこれまでに経験したテント上low-grade astrocytomaの治療法，治療成績などを検討し，若干の文献的考察を行ったので報告する．

The retrospective analysis of 53 cases with supra-tentorial low-grade (grade 1 or 2 clue to WHO grading) astrocytomas included the years 1965-84. The 5-year and 10-year survival rates were 61.9% and 52.1%, respectively. The recurrence of tumors ocurred in 15 cases (28.3%) , almost within 3 years after the initial treatment, and early recurrent cases indicated poor results. Among them, 6 cases were noticed increasing malignancy of histological findings.
