  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

Temporal arteritis has been only infrequently reported in Japanese literature and so far only several pa thologically proven cases were found among these reports. Here, we report a classical example of temporal arteritis, in which the arteriographic demon-stration of arteritis was useful in order to choose an appropriate segment of arteries for biopsy.

This 81-year-old woman developed intractable headache and lumbago of one month duration prior to admission. She was found to have tender, tortuous, swollen temporal and occipital arteries without any neurological deficits.
