Four cases of hangman's fracture were reported. Thecases were distributed between 67 and 85 years of age andall were males.

The exact mechanisms of injuries to these cases were notprecisely documented, but all struck the head by falling forsome distance. Three of them showed cerebral concussionimmediately after injuries. One of four patients had com-plete transverse cord lesion at C5 level and the other showedright Brown-Séquard syndrome at C4 level, while anothertwo showed no neurological deficits except for neck pain.
