Isolated Fourth Ventricle

I．はじめに

　CTの出現とその応用によって，髄液腔は機能解剖学的にも，より容易かつ詳細に把握できるようになり，水頭症の診断，治療，病態の検索はもとより，患者の経過観察においても，CTは欠くことのできない補助検査法となった．

　ここに呈示するisolated fourth ventricleは，その存在が，既にDandyの時代より指摘されていたにもかかわらず，主として診断上の困難さにより，従来ともすれば看過されがちであった．

A case of the isolated fourth ventricle secondarily formed after the removal of cerebellar astrocytoma was reported. Some discussions were made on clinical diagnosis, treatment and pathogenetical considerations. We stressed the urgerncy of the recognition of this disease because it is a treatable clinical entity by the early and appropriate surgical intervention.
