I．はじめに

　oligodendrogliomaはglioma全体の約5％を占めるにすぎないが，その臨床的，病理学的特徴によりよく知られている．Cushing^8）は"oligodendrogliomas occur almost exclusively in the cerebral hemispheres of adults"と述べている．しかしながら頭蓋内正中部に発育して一般のoligodendrogliomaと異なった臨床像を呈する一群が，midline oligodendrogliomaとして過去わずかながら報告されている．われわれは1972年から1977年の間にmidline oligodendrogliomaの7症例を経験したので報告し，本腫瘍群の臨床像を文献例とともに考察することとした．

Definition of the midline oligodendroglioma has been confused on histological diagnosis or classification since the first report published in 1926, although Martin defined the disorder as supratentrial midline intraventricular oligodendroglioma in 1931.

Twenty six cases including our seven of classical midline oligodendroglioma are presented, and their definition, pathogenesis and symptomatology are discussed in this report. The age distribution of our seven cases in from 15 to 50 years in age with the mean of 30.4 years. They are 4 males and 3 females.
