　LSDによる実験的精神障害は臨床的には，急性間脳症と老えられるが，この際，LSDのアドレナリン代謝に及ぼす影響が重要な役割を演ずることが，Rinkel^1）及びHoffer^2）等によつて指摘された。又，Lingjaerde^3）等はラッテに於てLSD注射後，P³²が独占的に副腎髄質に摂取されることから，これは副腎髄質の細胞活動の亢進を意味するとし，同時に視床下部にもP³²の増加を認めて，LSDは視床下部副腎髄質系に働くとしている。而もこの所見は火傷その他の非特異的ストレス状態とは異なり，LSDに特異的な所見であることを発見した。又，Weil-Malherbe^4）や教室の阪本^7）はLSD酩酊時に血中アドレナリン様物質の増加を証明し，Ehmadjian^5）等は尿中にアドレナリンの増加を認めている。

　我々は精神疾患者のLSD実験的精神障害時に於ける尿中アドレナリン値の変動を観察し，LSDのアドレナリン代謝に及ぼす影響の一様相を検討した。

　The urinary Adrenaline (Ad.) was quantitatedby a modification of fluorometric method of Euler-Floding.

　(1) Variance of urinary Ad. value paralleledin a certain degree with psychopathological diencepharic symptoms and vegetative reactions inrepeated LSD intoxications. Therefore, Ad. value in urine was considered as a reliable indicatorof LSD intoxication.

　(2) The urinary Ad. was estimated in psychiatric patients (5 neurotics and 5 schizophrenics)13 times during acute LSD intoxication. Therewere no differences between neurotic and schizophrenic cases in the matter of LSD resistance. These results suggests that LSD resistance is dueto individual differences of diencephalic reactivity, not process of disease.

　(3) The tolerance to LSD occured in the patients who experienced the intoxication (100γ)before. The LSD tolerance reached its peak onthe next day of intoxication and it disappearedgradually within one week.

　(4) The chromaffin reaction of adrenal medullaof rats was colorimetrically estimated during acuteLSD intoxication. This chromaffinity disappearedin 12 hours after LSD injection and restored tothe preinjection level in 24 hours. But the chromaffinity was not influenced by LSD reinjectedat the 24th hour after the first LSD injection. This fact shows that the cathecholamine of adrenal medulla of rats decreases and LSD tolerancedevelops after LSD injection.

　(5) The cross-tolerance between LSD andmescaline was noted. Namely, LSD and mescaline are considered having the same effect in thedevelopment of their tolerance. The cross-tolerance between LSD and LSD-suggestion was notfound. It will he necessary to examine the natureof LSD tolerance in more detail by using the cross-tolerance phenomenon to various stressors.
