  • Abstract
  • Look Inside

In the arrhythmic siberian chipmunks (Eutamias sibiricus) with total bilateral suprachiasmatic nuclei (SCN) lesions, xenografts of the suprachiasmatic nuclei taken from day 1 neonatal Wistar rats were transplanted into the third ventricle of the chipmunk brain.

Wheel-running activity was used to check circadian rhythmicity before and after the transplantaion. Animals were kept in a sound-attenuated temperature controlled room under constant darkness. Food and water were available ad libitum.
