Some patients with neuro-ophthalmologic syn-dromes due to brainstem lesion underwent mag-netic resonance imaging (MRI) using a 0.256 tesla superconducting magnet system. MRI pulse sequences were carried out using the T1 weighted inversion recovery and spin echo images and the T2 weighted spin echo image. MRI was perfor-med to confirm whether the expected location of the brainstem lesions could be verified. The neuro-ophthalmologic syndromes were divided into four different groups according to the level of brainstem lesions.

Group 1: lesion of paramedian pontine reticular formation (PPRF).
