Some understanding in generation of myoclonus

　Myocloniaという用語はFriedreich（1881）のpara-myoclonus multiplexという記述に始まり，その後Unverricht（1891）によるfamilial myoclonusの記載をはじめとして，さまざまの原因による類似の症状の記載に用いられてきた。したがってミオクローヌスmycclonusという用語は症状名であり，疾患の単位ではないことは繰り返しいうまでもない。

　Possible way of interpreting the generating mechanism of myoclonus was discussed. A. Epileptic group of myoclonus are divided into two subgroups : 1) with cortical or hemispheric pathology ; SSPE, C-J, encephalitis, 2) with widespread cerebello-cerebral involvement ; myoclonic epilepsy, lipidosis.

　B. Non-epileptic are dyssynergia cerebellaris myoclonica, some case of Lance-Adams syndrome and extrapyramidal myoclonus.
