  • Look Inside

The review by Cooper (1960), Matthews (1972) and Barker (1974) is useful to know the muscle spindle morphology, but nowadays their contents are seemed to be out-of-date for the recent developments. Several important reports during the last 5 years are possibly introduced in the first chapter, which contain both the new recognition of three fibre types of intrafusal muscle fibre: bag fibre, bag2 fibre and chain fibre, and the new information about the spindle innervation including the autonomic innervation to spindles.
