Computed tomography of posterior fossa tumors

はじめに

　コンピューター断層撮影法（CT）が初めて臨床の場に登場して約5年を経過したが，本法はその後，急速に臨床に導入され，神経放射線診断学の中で大きな分野を占めるようになった。脳腫瘍の診断，とくに後頭蓋窩腫瘍の診断にあたってはCTは必須の検査法との評価を受けつつある^1,7〜10）。本稿では，後頭蓋窩腫瘍のCTによる診断，とくにCTを含む各種神経放射線学的検査の進め方について考察を加えてみたい。

Abstract

Five years have already elapsed since computed tomography was first introduced in neuroradi-ology in 1972. Ever since there has been wide spread application of this method, which has become one of the major fields of diagnostic radiology. CT has been indispensable in the diagnosis of posterior fossa tumors.

In this paper our experience with posterior fossa tumors has been reported with a review of the literature. Computed tomography clearly visualizes posterior fossa tumors in their location and extent; however, it is difficult to diagnose the histologic nature of the tumors.
