Resulting from many causes, including expansion of industrialization, use of large quantity of insecticides in agriculture and forestry, increase of medicine, progression of environmental polusion etc., we are exposed to so many toxic agents. But the toxic substances which lead to selective cerebellar degeneration and atrophy are relatively few, and especially, which are proved to injure the cerebellum directly are rare, except mercury for example.
