向精神薬の脳波的研究

Electroencephalographic Approach to the Action of the Psychotropic Drugs

I．緒言

　最近の精神科領域に於ける治療薬の進歩は著しいものがある。又内因性精神病類似の精神症状惹起物質も次々と見出されて来た。そしてその作用機序の研究も色々な方法で行なわれつつある。我々は数年来動物の行動と脳波を指標にしてこれら向精神薬の作用を研究して来た。

　向精神薬の作用点が脳であることは疑がない。我々はこれら向精神薬がまず選択的に脳のどこか限られたある神経機構に促進的，又は抑制的に作用し，それを起点にして他の神経機構に働きかけ種々の精神作用をあらわすのであろうと考えている。その初めに作用する神経機構は1つの神経細胞とか，シナプスとかでなく，それらが集つて構成するある機能単位で考えていいであろう。

Effects of various psychotropic drugs on the EEG of the cats were observed. Permanent electrodes were settled and drug effects were observed with respect to the following points ; 1. behavoral change,

2. spontaneous electrical activity of the cor-tical and subcortioal regions,

3. cortical desynchronizing response to the electrical stimulation of the brain stem reticular formation,

4. recruiting response to the electrical stim-ulation of the intralaminar nuclei of the thahy mus and

5. seizure discharge following the electrical stimulation of the hippocampus and amygdala. The results were summarized in Table 1.
