はじめに
編集者の意図にそうためには，本稿は病理形態学的立場から意識障害を解析することを目的とすべきであろう。しかしこの課題は著者らのよくなしうるものではないので，未発表の間歇型CO中毒の6剖検例にもとづいて遷延性CO中毒の病理を考察することにしたい。
Six autopsy cases of interval form of CO poisoning were presented. Their main clinico-pathological data are given in the next table.
From these data one may draw conclusion as follows: 1. The main pathological change of prolonged (interval form) CO poisoning consists in progressive deterioration of the cerebral white matter.
2. Focal or laminar necrosis is absent in the cerebral cortex.
3. Neuronal loss in the cerebral cortex occurs diffusely, being probably due to either retrograde change or senescence.
